Appointment of Statutory Auditor for the Financial year 2015-16
The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS)
is an autonomous Institution which is controlled by a General Body and
Governing Council. IACS receives funds from the Department of Science and
Technology (DST), Government of India and Government of West Bengal, Public
agencies (CSIR, DST,DAE, MNES etc.), Private Companies as well as Foreign
sources (NSF, UNDF, Japan, European Union, Sweden etc.). A number of specific
projects raised by individual scientists or group of scientists are being
supported by different funding agencies such as CSIR, DAE, DNES, DST, DOS,
DSIR, ICMR, INSA, NSF, UGC and UNDP. The present Director of the Institute is
Prof. Santanu Bhattacharyya. The Institute has dynamic programmes for the
pursuit of research leading to the doctoral degree and for post-doctoral work
and has Visiting Scientists Scheme. There is an excellent library, good
computing facilities and is connected to Internet.
IACS wants to appoint an experienced Kolkata based Chartered
Accountants Firm empanelled with Comptroller and Auditor General of India to
conduct Statutory Audit of the Institute for the financial year 2015-16 . The
grants received/receivable annually is around Rs. 64 crores besides the grants
under Project Accounts having annual transaction around Rs. 22 crores. It is expected
that accounts of Institute for the financial year 2015-16 including accounts of
Extramural Projects, Provident Fund and other allied accounts will tentatively
be ready by 31st May 2016. The audit of accounts of the Institute is required
to be commenced from 1st June 2016 and final Audit certificate on the Accounts
of IACS needs be issued tentatively by mid of June 2016 to enable IACS to
submit the certified Accounts to the C&AG of India within 30 th June 2016
for their audit.
The interested Audit Firms having experience on import of
scientific Machines/ Instruments/equipments/material worth crores of rupees
annually in the Auditee Institute, may submit their quotations in sealed cover
addressed to “Registrar, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science,
2A & 2B Raja S.C. Mullick Road, Jadavpur, Kolkata-700032 in the prescribed
proforma annexed herewith latest by 5.00 PM on 31.12.2015. The tenure of the
selected Statutory Auditor is likely to be continued for 3 years.
