Requirements to become a Chartered Accountant:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThrough CPT route:<\/strong><\/p>\n

(i) Enroll with the Institute
\nfor Common Proficiency Course (CPC) after passing class 10th examination
\nconducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination
\nrecognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto.<\/p>\n

(ii) Appear in CPT examination after appearing in the Senior
\nSecondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body
\nconstituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central
\nGovernment as equivalent thereto and after completion of specified period (60
\ndays) from the date of registration for CPC with the Board
\nof Studies and first day of the month in which the examination is to be held,
\nviz., students registered on or before 1st April\/1st October will be eligible to appear in June\/December examination,
\nas the case may be.<\/p>\n

(iii)Join Intermediate (IPC)
\nCourse\/ATC after passing CPT and 10+2 examination.<\/p>\n

  \nundergo Orientation Programme and complete 100 hours ITT at the earliest but

•         Appear in Intermediate
  \n(IPC) Examination\/ATE on completion of 8 months of study course as on first day
  \nof the month in which the examination is to be held<\/li>\n
•          Join articled training
  \nafter passing either Group I or Both Groups of Intermediate (IPC) Course.<\/li>\n
•          Undergo First General
  \nManagement and Communication Skills (GMCS) course (15 days) during the first
  \nyear of articled training.<\/li>\n
•         Undergo Second General
  \nManagement and Communication Skills (GMCS) course (15 days) after completion of
  \n18 months of articled training but before completion of articled training.
  \nAlternatively, attend Four Week\u2019s Residential Programme on Professional Skills
  \nDevelopment.<\/li>\n
•          Clear Group II of
  \nIntermediate (IPC) Examination if not done earlier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  (iv) Join CA Final Course: <\/p>\n

  •          After passing Intermediate
    \n(IPC) Examination register for Final course with the Board of Studies;<\/li>\n
  •          Collect study material of
    \nthe Final course and prepare for the Final examination;<\/li>\n
  •          Complete Advance
    \nInformation Technology Training during the third year of practical training but
    \nbefore appearing in the Final Examination;<\/li>\n
  •          Complete articled
    \ntraining of 3 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    (v) Appear in the final
    \nexamination on completion of the practical training or while serving last 6
    \nmonths of articled training on or before the last day of the month preceding
    \nthe month in which the examination is to be held.<\/p>\n

    (vi) Pass final examination
    \nand complete GMCS II, if not completed earlier.<\/p>\n

    (vii) Enroll as a member of the
    \nICAI and be designate as \u201cChartered Accountant\u201d.<\/p>\n

    •          Enroll for Accounting
      \nTechnician Course (ATC).<\/li>\n
    •          Successfully complete 8
      \nmonths of study course from the date of registration for the ATC.<\/li>\n

      \nOrientation Course of one week spanning 35 hours and covering topics, such as,
      \npersonality development, communication skills, office procedures, business

          *Provisional Registration:
          \nStudents who are pursuing the Final year of Graduation Course shall be eligible
          \nfor provisional registration to the Intermediate (Integrated Professional
          \nCompetence) Course. Such students would be required to submit satisfactory proof
          \nof having passed the graduation examination with the specified percentage of
          \nmarks within such period not exceeding six months as from the date of
          \nappearance in the final year graduation examination. During the period of
          \nprovisional registration, a student can undergo and complete ITT or Computer
          \nTraining and Orientation course. It is clarified that in their case, the
          \npractical training will commence only on becoming a graduate with specified
          \npercentage of marks. Such students shall be eligible for appearing in the
          \nIntermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination on completion of
          \nnine months of practical training. If such students fail to produce the proof
          \nwithin the aforesaid period, his provisional registration shall be cancelled
          \nand the registration fee or the tuition fee, as the case may be, paid by him
          \nshall not be refunded and no credit shall be given for the theoretical
          \neducation undergone.<\/strong><\/p>\n
